Smorgasbord Fantasia

This one's been a low-key one from Marvel but frankly, based on what I see on the trailer, I might just LOOVE it the most. Sooo looking forward to this one!!! 

Marvel's new set up on TV has kinda been a mixed bag for me. I never did get around to watching the WandaVision/ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was great in parts but overall disappointing. Which is probably why I am pinning my hopes on this next one, out in June.  Loki gets an entire series for himself - and there's this new storyline about the TimeKeepers ( in trademark Loki style, there's a lot of wit, action and backstabbing!) that seems pretty kickass. And then there is Owen Wilson!! Woot-Woot! 

So finally putting speculations to rest, Marvel dropped the trailer on Friday :) Lots of fans have been going crazy over discussion groups, internets trying to piece together this one. Russo brothers' dedicated this one all the crazy fans. It's a wonderful franchise coming to an end. [ Meanwhile you can always catch up with Ms. Marvel opening a month before the End Game. The wait is on.

Guy Ritchie. Guy Ritchie. Guy Ritchie. This one's going to be EPIC. Yup - New movie out in 2017 and the trailer released sometime back at Comic-Con looks like a motherload of a shit-kicker! It's got Charlie Hunnam( Pacific Rim), dark humor, bare-knuckled fights, Jude Law, fire-balls, black magic and hell, it's a Guy Ritchie movie. Do you seriously need any other reason? This one's way up on my Most Awaited Movies of the Next Year -  The   King Arthur, Legend of the Sword.  In his own inimitable fashion, Guy Ritchie stamps his masterclass and his own distinct stylish visual flair on this legend, gritty, pulsating with a very high level of energy that never lets down through this whole trailer. Would you be interested in a Guy Ritchie take - on the Arthurian legend ? Let's find out, March 24 2017 as the movie opens. For now, feast on this action-packed exhilarating trailer that definitely ups the expectations to beyond star-trek.

Well, the full trailer is finally out! What do you think? [ Personally, am disappointed with the casting, a little.]  While I went absolutely nuts about the book ( I had just discovered the wonderful genius of MR Carey and was trying to find out all books written by him! ) I am bit wary about the movie. It shouldn't end up being just another zombie movie - because, hey it is NOT about the zombies. And I hope it does justice to the mind-blowing and mind-fuck-of-an-ending in a book.

Now that The Force Awakens has officially been accepted by the fans worldwide, I would like to see how this one goes down with those purists. Mind you, I personally think this side-story has much more potential that the mash-up part-VII that pays homage to older movies and the story-telling. The first trailer is out and it's a feast for eyes. The movie releases in December 2016.

Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children is an intriguing title - and I confess that while I've heard of the book, I never really thought about checking it out. But yesterday, the trailer caught my attention and Tim Burton's artistic vision really brings out the mystery, adventure and creeping sense of unease that tinges the whole premise. I will get my hands on the book - but for now, feast on Eva Green!! and of course, the peculiar children.

The world is going to pay. May 2015 the demonic robot Ultron unleashes destruction and mayhem and our superheroes may be hard-pressed to really save the world. Like Thor-2: Dark World , this second movie that is bringing together all our beloved super-heroes is darker, grimmer and brutal. We knew it was all building to this with Captain America: Winter Soldier being the best outing from Marvel till date. I got some comments: - Mark " Hulk " Ruffalo really seems to be having a rough time. The superhero who pummeled "puny God" Loki like he was stone-washing him, looks lost and confused. I wonder why? - Tony Stark aka Ironman fucks up big time. Ultron seems to be using one of his suits to go about his dance of destruction. - Did Loki really die? in Thor-2 ? - I think I saw the Twins from Cap-2 make their appearance. Hooray !! Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch , but makes you wonder if they are the good guys or the bad ones? End credits of Cap-2 really didn...

Long time back, Mel Gibson - before he became the Braveheart or the action hero-detective in the Lethal Weapon series - was synonymous with one name: MAD MAX. A road-warrior of the post-apocalyptic world. A trilogy of movies that were outrageously stylish and became cult hits in the early 80s. While the third movie was a stretch - Beyond the Thunderdome , by then the road-warrior Mad Max had become a cult-hero. We see the cult is beginning to revive. With the latest movie in that franchise helmed by George Miller coming out in 2015. I let you feast your eyes on the trailer. I loved this mad desolate dust-bowl world of blood and pain - trailer!! Let's hope the movie doesn't disappoint. High hopes riding on Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

You're not afraid of the dark, are you? sardonic tone dripping sarcasm, dead-pan expression with eyes that glow in the dark, remember Riddick from Pitch Black ? A sleeper hit that almost escaped the radars, Vin Diesel played the convict whom everybody wants dead on a planet where dark rules and he is the only one who can see at night. I LOOVED that movie. Then came part two - where typical Hollywood fashion, they brought in a newer storyline that touted Riddick to be the last of a once proud, now exterminated race of warriors - the only one who can stop a set of marauding villians, set on world ( oh beg pardon - that should be Galaxy?) domination. Big budget, Hollywood action-fare. a little too lavishly done sets, unbelievable premise, bigger star cast. didn't like it one bit. Looks like the team's learnt it's lessons - they are going back to that one planet; where Riddick is left for dead once again and he has got to deal with teams of mercenaries flying in to f...
